There's good news and bad news in the weather forecast for New Orleans-area Mardi Gras parades this weekend (Jan. 27-28).

First, the good news: Sunday looks great. The National Weather Service is calling for just a slight chance of showers, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 62. Sunday night is going to be clear and cool with lows in the upper 40s.

Parades rolling Sunday include Little Rascals (Metairie) and Slidellians and Perseus (Slidell).

The weather for Saturday, a busier day for parades, isn't looking too great.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely during the day with a high of 65, the NWS says. Saturday night might be a bit better as the chance of showers decreases. The low is forecast to be in the mid-50s.

Krewes rolling Saturday include Krewe du Vieux and Delusion (French Quarter) and Bilge and Poseidon (Slidell).
