“CLOSER TO THE MOON”: A Romanian police officer and some of his World War II Jewish resistance-era friends team up to stage a heist. They cover their criminal activity by pretending they’re making a movie. Vera Farmiga and Mark Strong star. Showing at 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center, 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

“MAN FROM RENO”: Japanese crime novelist Aki (Ayako Fujitani), a stranger in strange San Francisco, is not sure what role she’s playing in a real-life murder mystery. Showing at 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center, 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.
