Tony winner Cerveris to appear on ‘Steppin’ Out’ _lowres


Tony Award-winning actor Michael Cerveris will be featured on “Steppin’ Out” at 7:30 p.m. Friday on WYES.

Cerveris, who now calls both New Orleans and New York City home, has appeared in many Sondheim musicals on Broadway, on the HBO series “Treme” and currently on CBS’ “The Good Wife.”

He has played Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street and won a Tony for his portrayal of John Wilkes Booth in Sondheim’s “Assassins.”

He also performed during the recent Sondheim birthday tribute on PBS.

Cerveris will make another “Steppin’ Out” appearance later in the summer, as he will be performing in Paul Sanchez’s “Nine Lives” musical at Le Petit Theatre.
