“PLANES: FIRE & RESCUE”: In this computer-animated action-adventure story, an elite team of firefighting aircraft is charged with protecting the Piston Peak National Park from a raging wildfire. Characters include air racer Dusty Crophopper, helicopter Blade Ranger and air tanker Dipper. Voice performances by Dane Cook, Julie Bowen, Ed Harris and Hal Holbrook.

“THE PURGE: ANARCHY”: Writer-director James DeMonaco helms this quickly produced sequel to his 2013 dark-horse hit “The Purge.” As in the original thriller, the New Founders of America invite all citizens to execute their right to purge everyone they designate as undesirable. Let the annual 12 hours of anarchy begin, they proclaim. The cast includes Frank Grillo, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez and Michael K. Williams.

“SEX TAPE”: Inspired by the sex manual “The Joy of Sex,” a married couple, played by Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz, make a video of themselves. Unfortunately, their meant-to-be-private sex tape ends up on the Internet. Rob Lowe and Jack Black co-star.

“LIFE ITSELF”: Pulitzer Prize-winner Roger Ebert, America’s most famous film critic, is profiled in this moving documentary about his life and work. Steve James (“Hoop Dreams”) directed the documentary and Martin Scorsese and Steven Zaillian produced. Showing at Chalmette Movies 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, and 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22.

“VIDEO GAMES: THE MOVIE”: Actor Zach Braff produced this feature-length documentary about the rise of video games. Opening Friday at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center, 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

“EXPOSED”: This documentary profiles eight female and male performers who expand the boundaries of burlesque. New Orleans performer Bunny Love will introduce the film and conduct a Q&A on Monday. Opening Friday at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center, 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

“HONOUR”: A British drama centered on a young woman (Aiyisha Hart) targeted by her family for an “honor killing.” Paddy Considine portrays the hired assassin. Showing at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center, 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.
