Following the release of his Louis Armstrong tribute album, “Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch,” Dr. John’s Sept. 20 concert at the Joy Theater will feature many special guests.

The guest list includes New Orleans trumpeters Terence Blanchard and Nicholas Payton and drummer Herlin Riley, all of whom appear on the album.

Dr. John’s music director Sarah Morrow, who did much of the arranging for “Ske-Dat-De-Dat,” and his band, the Nite Trippers, will join the singer-pianist and six-time Grammy winner and his guests on stage. The album’s guests include Bonnie Raitt, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Shemekia Copeland and New Orleans native Ledisi.

Released Aug. 19, “Ske-Dat-De-Dat” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard magazine’s jazz chart. For info and tickets for the Sept. 20 event see
