Elvis Costello will perform a solo concert at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans on March 12. Tickets are $50 plus service fees and available from ticketmaster.com.

Dubbed the “Detour” tour, Costello announced 13 U.S. solo dates, starting March 1 in Boulder, Colo.

A New York Times review of the British singer-songwriter’s solo show at Carnegie Hall in June reported that he offered “a continuing, challenging, intimate engagement with his songs, old and new.”

Costello and New Orleans songwriter, pianist and producer Allen Toussaint released the collaborative “The River in Reverse” album in 2006. Recorded in New Orleans shortly after Hurricane Katrina as well as Los Angeles, the album features classic Toussaint compositions and songs co-written by Costello and Toussaint. It received a Grammy nomination.
