Pop superstar Taylor Swift will bring her “Reputation" stadium tour to New Orleans in 2018. Swift is slated to perform at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sept. 22.
Dates for the North American leg of Swift’s tour were announced on Monday. The tour kicks off on May 8, 2018, in Arizona and continues through an early-October show in Dallas. The New Orleans stop is the third-to-last show.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Dec. 13. Fans can participate in a pre-sale via Taylor Swift Tix powered by Ticketmaster Verified Fan. Registration for Taylor Swift Tix is open until November 28. Go to TaylorSwift.com for additional details.
This will be her first headlining performance at the largest venue in New Orleans. She has sold out the smaller Smoothie King Center on previous visits. She's also performed twice at LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, most recently during the tour for her 2014 album "1989."
She joins her pal and former opening act Ed Sheeran on the Superdome's 2018 concert schedule. Sheeran is scheduled to headline the Dome on Oct. 31, 2018.
The Dome will also host a single-night Bayou Country Superfest featuring George Strait and Chris Singleton on May 27, 2018, as well as the annual Essence Festival over the July 4 weekend.
"Reputation" is Swift's sixth album. She performed the songs “…Ready For It?” and “Call It What You Want” on "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 11.
Her North American tour is being produced by the Messina Touring Group and AEG.
In other local concert news, Nashville hitmaker Luke Bryan's What Makes You Country Tour is bound for the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on March 10, 2018. Brothers Osborne and Granger Smith are also on the bill.
Tickets are $52 to $92 plus service charges. Following various pre-sales starting on Nov. 14, they go on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. via LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com.
Bryan has in recent years limited his south Louisiana appearances to the Bayou Country Superfest when it was held at LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, and the private Endymion Extravaganza in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Bryan will also perform at the Cajundome in Lafayette on March 9.
