Country music star Garth Brooks played his first of four New Orleans concerts on Friday night.

After a short set from his wife Trisha Yearwood, Brooks came back to the stage and announced "I love this song," just before performing his 1994 smash hit "Callin' Baton Rouge."

"Callin' Baton Rouge" inspired the evening’s loudest, longest response, as well as chants of "LSU, LSU, LSU."

"That song has never sounded that good in my entire life," he said afterward.
