“GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY”: Marvel, the studio behind the “Iron Man,” “Thor,” and “The Avengers” franchises, begins what’s sure to be another popular action-adventure series with “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The movie’s unlikely group of guardians consists of space adventurer Peter Quill; a super-smart raccoon named Rocket; tree-like humanoid Groot; a green humanoid named Gamora whose body has been transformed into a weapon; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.
