The Old U.S. Mint on Esplanade Avenue hosts “Danny and Me: Stories and Memories,” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. OffBeat magazine publisher Jan Ramsey, writers Jon Pult and Kalamu ya Salaam, longtime Rounder Records producer Scott Billington, sculptor Clifton Webb and dancer Greer Mendy will relate Barker anecdotes, with music by Freddy Lonzo & the Cork Poppers. The Carver Theater, 2101 Orleans Ave., hosts an all-star concert in celebration of Barker from 8 p.m. to midnight. Performers include John Boutte and Todd Duke, Kenny Neal, Steve Masakowski, George French, Topsy Chapman & Solid Harmony, Charmaine Neville, John Rankin’s Guitarmony, and a banjo quintet featuring David Bandrowski, Detroit Brooks, Carl LeBlanc, Don Vappie and Seva Venet. From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Bullet’s Sports Bar, 2441 A.P. Tureaud Ave., hosts the festival finale with the Hot 8 Brass Band, Gregg Stafford, Lucien Barbarin, Steve Pistorious, Leroy Jones and Kermit Ruffins. Admission is $10.

Vocalist Maria Muldaur headlines a benefit concert for the Danny Barker Banjo and Guitar Festival at Snug Harbor. Muldaur, who recorded the Blue Lu Barker favorite “Don’t You Feel My Leg,” will be joined by Topsy Chapman & Solid Harmony and Detroit Brooks. Shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
