Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience and Mannie Fresh will headline this year’s Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo on May 15-17, organizers with the host Mothership Foundation announced Thursday.

It’s the 10th Boogaloo to be held on the banks of Bayou St. John in Mid-City. Admission is free, but sales at the festival will help support anti-littering efforts, as well as an ongoing effort to plant trees along the bayou.

The live music on three stages also includes The New Orleans Suspects, Rotary Downs, Papa Mali, 101 Runners, Woodenhead, Yojimbo, The Wild Magnolias, Soul Creole, Erica Falls, Mike Dillon’s New Orleans Punk Rock Percussion Consortium featuring Stanton Moore, and Jason Marsalis.

Also, Simon Lott, Terrence Houston, Daria Dzurik, Jesse Paige, Aaron Walker, Otto Schrang, Paul Thibodeaux, Brian Coogan, Doug Belote and others, Pirate’s Choice featuring Luke Quaranta and Justin Perkins (Toubab Krewe), and Raja Kassis.

And, Sam Dickey (Benyoro), Kim Carson, Colin Lake, To Be Continued Brass Band, Davis Rogan, Christian Serpas & Ghost Town, Meschiya Lake & Tom McDermott, Tony Hall & Friends, Dave Jordan & The Neighborhood Improvement Association, N’awlins Johnny’s, Alexandra Scott & Her Magical Band, Chicago Children’s Choir, Pontchartrain Wrecks, Funky Dawgz Brass Band, Kevin Stylez, and Ecirb Müller’s Twisted Dixie.

Beginning as a one-day neighborhood celebration in 2005, the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo has grown to be one of New Orleans’ premier music showcases.

In 2014, over 40,000 music and art lovers attended the three-day festival.

In addition to music, the Boogaloo hosts an art market, kids stage, wellness activities, a 5K run and local food.

Proceeds from the festival will help support an anti-litter initiative and the MotherShip Foundation’s Restore the Bayou Canopy campaign.

This ongoing effort to replace trees lost to hurricanes Katrina and Isaac already has resulted in the planting of eight live oak trees along Bayou St. John.
