Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman returns to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday to give a performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s “Violin Concerto No. 1,” as well as Ravel’s “Tzigane.”
Gluzman performs with orchestras across the world, and on Friday, he will play in the newly restored Orpheum Theater in New Orleans.
The second half of the concert will be devoted to “Harmonielehre,” a minimalist 1985 composition that was inspired by a dream by composer John Adams.
Carlos Miguel Prieto will conduct.
In addition to the evening concert, there is an open rehearsal at 10 a.m.
