Carnival of Art

A historic collection of original paintings and silkscreens by the late renowned New Orleans artist George Rodrigue, spanning 40 years of Carnival traditions, opened at the George Rodrigue Gallery, featuring artworks on loan from private collections and the artist's archives. The exhibition is up through March 19.

The Krewe of Carrollton held its traditional 2017 Royal Walkabout, strolling down Oak Street from the organization's den. Aboard a mini-float, 2017 King Joseph LaRocca and Queen Kelly Van Geffen led the merry band to South Carrollton Avenue, stopping for libations along the way and ending at Madigan's.
