The 1943 Ford-American LaFrance fire truck was donated to the museum by a private owner from Pell City, Alabama in 2009. The museum is hoping to make the truck part of an exhibit explaining the board range of occupations and tasks on the Home Front needed to win the war, according to Tom Czekanski, the Senior Curator and Restoration Manager for the museum. The museum will hold a fundraiser on Friday, March 16, 2018 called Drafts for Crafts at 7 p.m. to raise funds to complete the restoration of the fire truck. Previous beneficiaries of the annual fundraiser was the recently completed PT-305 patrol-torpedo boat.
