A man with whom New Orleans police said they would like to speak about the murder of 11-year-old Arabian Gayles has been found.
State Police found Jordan Montrell, 20, on Tuesday afternoon a short time after the NOPD said it was searching for him. He is not a suspect in the murder but was meeting with homicide detectives, said Remi Braden, a Police Department spokeswoman.
State police found him at North Jefferson Davis Parkway and Iberville Street, said Trooper Melissa Matey, spokeswoman for state police Troop B.
Gayles was killed Sept. 2 after someone opened fire outside her home in the 1300 block of Gen. Ogden Street in the Carrollton Area. Bullets that pierced a wall of the home also injured her 11-year-old cousin and wounded another man.
Police previously have spoken with three other men who, they said, might also have information about the shooting but have made no arrests.
