Selena Gomez brought her Revival World Tour to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Tuesday (June 14). Moments before the show started, sharp-eyed fans spotted Gomez and a couple of her dancers at the left rear corner of the darkened stage, jumping and pumping themselves up as the Calvin Harris / Rihanna single “This Is What You Came For” boomed from the P.A. system.

When the arena lights went down, the 23-year-old former Disney Channel star first appeared in silhouette behind a screen. She emerged in a cloud of smoke to kick off her show with a truncated version of her “Revival” album’s title track. It segued into the “Revival” single “Same Old Love,” which gave way to the earlier single “Come and Get It.”

Later in the show, Gomez reportedly dedicated a song to the victims of the recent Orlando mass shooting. She was also close to Christina Grimmie, the pop singer and finalist on “The Voice” who was shot death following a show in Orlando last Friday night.

Despite those somber acknowledgments, Gomez’s focus is inevitably on fun, as photographer Sherri Miller’s images from the concert attest.
