A man armed with a shotgun robbed three 18-year-olds at an Uptown park Tuesday night.

According to New Orleans police, the three victims were sitting in a park at Napoleon Avenue and Camp Street about 9:20 p.m. when the man approached them and demanded their phone and money. The park is near the New Orleans Police Department’s 2nd District Station at 4317 Magazine St.

The victims complied, and the robber fled.

Later in the night, NOPD spokesman Tyler Gamble said, police executed a search warrant at the home of Jamaal Williams, 28, who they suspected might have been involved in the crime. Although a .40-caliber handgun was recovered and he was booked on warrants, Gamble said, detectives cleared him as a suspect in the holdup at the park.
