The man killed in a shooting spree that rattled the 2100 block of Gov. Nicholls Street in Treme on June 5 has been identified as 27-year-old Dominique Cosey.

Coroner Jeffrey Rouse said Cosey died of a gunshot wound.

Cosey was the oldest of four people shot about 2:15 p.m. His age was initially reported by the New Orleans Police Department as 17.

Police said June 5 that they were looking for a red Nissan Versa with dark tinted windows and an unknown out-of-state license plate used in the killing. The car was recovered and is being processed for evidence, said Officer Frank Robertson, an NOPD spokesman.

Detective Amy Robinson is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at (504) 658-5300.
