Two men and a woman were arrested for their alleged involvement in the rape of an 8-year-old girl, according to a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Marrero man Percy Prestenbach, 74, was booked on counts of sexual battery and aggravated rape on Thursday. Prestenbach reportedly confessed to detectives to sexual contact with the girl.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Col. John Fortunato said that Marrero man Merton Bailey, 34, was also arrested for the crime. Court records show that he was already in custody in Jefferson Parish for a July incident in which he allegedly beat his wife with a barstool and forced her to claim that her ex-husband had attacked her. Bailey is a registered sex offender.
Magistrate Commissioner Paul Schneider set bond at $450,000 for Prestenbach, $800,000 for Bailey’s latest booking counts.
Detectives also arrested Angel Boyce, 32, as an accessory after the fact to both of the crimes allegedly committed by Prestenbach. Schneider found no probable cause for the accessory to aggravated rape count, and set bond at $25,000 for the accessory to sexual battery count.
