Cyndi Lauper, Michael McDonald and John Oates will perform at this year’s annual Family Gras concert series during the first weekend of February.

The Metairie concerts, now in their 11th year, will be Feb. 2-3 — a Friday and Saturday — but will not run through Sunday this year because of the Super Bowl. There are no Mardi Gras parades scheduled in Jefferson Parish for that Sunday, either.

The concerts take place on the Veterans Memorial Boulevard neutral ground next to Lakeside Shopping Center.

Family Gras will begin at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 2 with Louisiana Night, featuring David Batiste & the Gladiators, followed by Deacon John and the Ivories.

On Saturday, the Imagination Movers and Remedy will perform during the first two slots, followed by Oates, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and half of the duo Hall & Oates; McDonald, a solo performer and former member of Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers; and pop icon Lauper.

A full schedule will be released Wednesday.
