More than two months after bail bondsman Steve Adams and his employees said they suspected an inside job following their discovery of a burglary, missing cash and fraudulently cashed checks, New Orleans police finally have agreed with them.

The NOPD said Wednesday that an arrest warrant was issued recently for Jeffrey Stokes, accusing him of being the burglar in a brazen break-in during which a safe was taken from Number One Bail Bonds on Tulane Avenue.

Stokes is a cousin of Keith Brady, who was arrested earlier this week for cashing checks belonging to the business. Brady had worked at the company until he was caught on video emerging suspiciously from a room that contained a safe.
