Two men died and one was injured in separate shootings late Friday and early Saturday in New Orleans, police said.

The first killing happened Friday night in the 7th Ward.

Someone shot Dion Richard, 38, about 7:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Robertson Street, said John Gagliano, the Orleans Parish coroner’s chief investigator.

Richard died on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Homicide detective Amy Robinson is in charge of the investigation.

Homicide detectives were called to the next fatal shooting early Saturday morning.

An unidentified 30-year-old man was shot to death about 3:45 a.m. in the 4300 block of Erato Street. He died on the scene, said officer Frank Roberston, a Police Department spokesman.

Homicide detective Robert Bachelder is in charge of the investigation.

A 35-year-old man was in stable condition after he was shot in the head late Friday.

The victim was wounded when someone opened fire on him about 10:15 p.m. in the 3600 block of Kimi O’Gray Avenue in Desire.
