VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Only 19 openings remain for the vacation Bible school that will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 20-24 at St. Charles United Methodist Church, 1905 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan. The school’s theme will be “Come and See,” and it is open to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. The phone number for the church office is (985) 764-8292.

HOLY SPIRIT CHURCH: Holy Spirit Church in Algiers celebrated the Feast Day of the parish on Pentecost Sunday with a Family Picnic after the 11 a.m. Mass. Parishioners gathered in the Msgr. Allen J. Roy Parish Life Center, where they shared barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, baked beans, salad and a special birthday cake.

OUR LADY OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE: Our Lady of Divine Providence Church, 1000 N. Starrett Road, Metairie, will celebrate its 50th anniversary the weekend of July 4-5. There will be apple pie a la mode and American flag pins after the 4 p.m. Mass on July 4 and after the 10 a.m. and noon Masses on July 5.

WOMEN’S STUDY: Westbank Community Ministries will begin a new women’s study at 6:30 p.m. Mondays beginning July 6 at 2525 Apollo Ave., Harvey.

The study group will focus on the book “Boundaries” by Henry Cloud and John Townsend, which discusses how to set limits and still exhibit love toward others. The book costs $10. To reserve a copy of the book, call (504) 368-2525.
