NATIONAL CANCER SURVIVORS DAY: The Ochsner Cancer Institute will mark National Cancer Survivors Day with a “Hope Floats” festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Mardi Gras World, 1380 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans.

The festival will feature music, refreshments, giveaways and video testimonial booths for survivors to share their stories.

Special guest WWL-TV’s Sally-Ann Roberts will read from her book “Your Power is ON! A Little Book of Hope” and her morning show co-host Eric Paulsen will be master of ceremonies.

The event is open to adult survivors with one guest, and pediatric survivors with two guests. The survivors need not have been treated at Ochsner. To register, visit ochsner.org/hopefloats.

MENTAL ILLNESS RESOURCES FAIR: The National Alliance on Mental Illness New Orleans will hold a Recovery and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie.

The event will feature peer support and education, health screenings, chair massage, art therapy, wellness prizes, recovery speakers, and information on housing, education and employment.
