Multiple shootings in New Orleans early Tuesday left five people injured, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a woman was dropping off her sister in the 7800 block of Bass Street when she heard gunshots. The victim sped away in her car, hearing more gunshots, then noticed she was shot.

Another shooting was reported about 2 a.m. in the 3200 block of Garden Oaks Drive, where a male victim was injured.

A shooting in the 1000 block of Farragut Street about 2:30 a.m. left two victims with gunshot wounds. The victims said they were awakened by five or six men wearing masks. While the intruders were ransacking the house, the two victims tried to flee but shots were fired and both were hit.

About 2:45 a.m., a man was approached by an armed robber demanding money at Franklin Avenue and Lakeshore Drive. The victim complied but then began fighting over the weapon. Several shots were fired and the victim realized he had been shot. He was taken to a hospital.
