Several people were robbed at gunpoint in two separate incidents Sunday night in New Orleans, police said.
The first robbery occurred around 8:25 p.m. at St. Philip and North Rampart streets at the edge of the French Quarter. Two women, ages 24 and 58, and a 65-year-old man were walking in the area when they were approached by an armed man, the New Orleans Police Department said in a preliminary offense log.
The suspect demanded the victims’ belongings. The victims complied, and the suspect fled.
The second robbery occurred around 11:15 p.m. at a CVS Pharmacy in the 900 block of Girod Street in the Central Business District, police said. After entering the store, a man allegedly produced a gun, took an employee to the register and demanded money.
The cashier complied, and the suspect fled with cash, police said.
