The New Orleans Jazz Fest 2016 schedule will be released on Tuesday (Jan. 19), likely before noon. With the release, weeks of speculation and rumor about who will perform at the Fair Grounds this spring will come to an end.

The 47th edition of what is officially the 2016 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell is April 22-24 and April 28-May 1 at the Fair Grounds,

Organizers faced a challenging task if they sought to build a roster on par with 2015. Last year’s jam-packed Jazz Fest featured Elton John -- who attracted one of the largest crowds in recent history to the Acura Stage on a flawless Saturday afternoon -- the Who, Ed Sheeran, Keith Urban, No Doubt, Pitbull, John Legend, Jimmy Buffett, Ryan Adams, Tony Bennett with Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz, Frankie Beverly & Maze, The O’Jays, Buddy Guy and hundreds more.

The upcoming, 2016 Jazz Fest will be the first since the death of Allen Toussaint, an icon of New Orleans music and a featured act at the festival for decades.
