Christmas turned tragic in parts of New Orleans as multiple shootings and traffic fatalities were reported by New Orleans police.

Here's an overview of the incidents:

-- 9:50 p.m. Friday (Christmas Day): A 26-year-old man was gunned down in the 300 block of North Broad Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim shot multiple times to the body inside of a vehicle. EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

-- 10 p.m. Friday: A 45-year-old man was killed in a crash near the intersection of General DeGaulle Drive and Garden Oaks Drive. Jeron C. Wheeler, 26, was booked with vehicular homicide. Wheeler was traveling eastbound on General DeGaulle Drive in his 2011 Nissan Maxima when he struck the victim crossing the street at Garden Oaks Drive.

-- 6:15 a.m. Saturday: A fatal traffic crash at 21000 Chef Menteur Highway. No other details have been released.

-- Just before 11 p.m. Friday: Two men were shot in the 9200 block of Airline Drive. The shooter struck a 37-year-old man then fired and hit a moving vehicle, striking a 60-year-old man.

-- 9 p.m. Friday: A man was shot while sitting in his vehicle in the 4000 block of Tulane Avenue. No other details were provided.

-- 3 p.m. Friday: A 31-year-old woman arrived at an area hospital, saying she was shot. No other details were provided.
