Update, 11:45 a.m.

Authorities have "big concerns" that I-10 near the Pearl River will go under due to rising water in the Pearl River.

Mike Steele, spokesman for the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, said it's not yet clear when that might happen or if the flooding will completely cover I-10 or only part, so some traffic can still pass.

"There is definitely a concern that we may have to shut I-10," Steele said, adding later it was a "big concern."

Last week, high water from the same storm forced the closure of I-12 in Hammond.
