Chalmette woman dies from wreck in N.O.

A 49-year-old Chalmette woman was killed Sunday evening in a traffic wreck in New Orleans, authorities said.

Pamela Seeigler was in her Toyota Camry when a pickup truck struck it while Seeigler was trying to cross St. Claude Avenue at Delery Street about 6:30 p.m.

Seeigler died on the scene, said John Gagliano, the Orleans Parish coroner’s chief investigator.

The man driving the GMC Sierra truck that hit her was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, said Officer Hilal Williams, a Police Department spokeswoman. Williams did not specify what injuries he suffered.

Toxicology tests are pending.

Fatality investigator Edgar Edwards is in charge of the investigation.

Police seek ID of man in Quarter cutting

New Orleans police are trying to identify a man in connection with a recent cutting in the French Quarter.

The cutting happened about 1:25 a.m. May 18 in Pere Antoine Alley, alongside St. Louis Cathedral. Police did not identify the victim.

The unknown assailant, who ran out of the alley afterward, is described as a white man, between 25 and 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has dark brown hair and wore a dark shirt and dark pants.

Motorcyclist killed in Mandeville crash

A man died Monday after he crashed his motorcycle into an overpass railing and catapulted over the side to the ground below, Mandeville police said.

The accident happened about 3:30 p.m. on West Causeway Approach, according to Mandeville Police Department spokesman Gerald Sticker.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
