NEW ORLEANS — A deal to bring a new corporate technology office to New Orleans that would employ 50 people with annual salaries averaging $83,000 has fallen apart.
Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Stephen Moret says following initial, positive discussions with Chen Med, the company that runs the JenCare health clinic chain changed the scope of its original plan.
That, Moret announced this week, resulted in their decision not to move forward with their planned development office in New Orleans. Moret described the decision as a disappointment. But he says it’s just a blip in the state’s efforts to lure tech companies to Louisiana.
A representative of Chen Med, the Miami company that runs Chen Tech and JenCare, did not return a request for comment.
