The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a hit-and-run on North Causeway Boulevard that left a Metairie man in critical condition early Wednesday morning.
Deputies were called to the scene about 1:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a man lying near the access road in the 1400 block of North Causeway Boulevard. They found the man on the west side of the roadway, Col. John Fortunato said in a news release.
The victim was unconscious and appeared to be suffering from multiple fractures and had cuts and bruises on his body, Fortunato said. He was transported to the Interim LSU Hospital in New Orleans and is listed in critical condition, Fortunato said.
Traffic Fatality Officer Carl Quijano Jr., who is conducting the investigation, said he believes the man may have been struck while crossing the street.

Man robs Family Dollar, drops loot, weapon
An armed robber emptied the safe at the Family Dollar on Claiborne Avenue before dropping his loot and weapon at a nearby Rally’s and fleeing when he was spotted by a New Orleans police officer Wednesday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The man walked into the business at 2147 Claiborne Ave. about 7:15 a.m. and locked the door behind him before asking for the manager, according to police reports. He then demanded cash from the safe and register, took the money and fled.
The suspect was spotted by police outside the fast-food restaurant after the crime was reported.
Suspect arrested in Filmore Ave. stabbing
New Orleans police arrested a 51-year-old man after he stabbed a woman during an argument in the 2600 block of Filmore Avenue, according to police reports.
Wayne Walker was arguing with the 53-year-old woman about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when he produced a knife and stabbed her, police said. The victim sustained minor injuries and Walker was arrested and booked with aggravated battery by cutting, according to police.
Suspect sought in West Bank robbery
A man was robbed on the West Bank after confronting another man whom he found peering into his vehicle Wednesday night, according to New Orleans police.
The 20-year-old victim approached the suspect about 11 p.m. on the 3400 block of Garden Oaks Drive and asked what he was doing, according to police. The suspect then took out a gun and demanded money from the victim. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene, according to police.
