New Orleans police said investigators found that earlier Tuesday the victim went to the bank and withdrew money to buy drugs. She returned home and "engaged in multiple narcotics transactions."

NOPD investigators "believe this aggravated burglary is a direct result of the previous narcotic activity."

A 48-year-old woman was beaten up by at least three men and had $2,400 stolen from her in Mid-City on Wednesday afternoon, according to New Orleans police.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. in the 500 block of S. Hennessey St.

According to preliminary information provided by NOPD, the woman said 3-4 men broke into the front door, hit her with the butt of a gun, punched her and stole $2,400.

No other details were provided yet.
