Police says man, 30, tried to strike officer
New Orleans — Police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday after authorities said he tried to hit a police officer with his vehicle Sunday.
Justin Henry was booked with attempted murder of a police officer, resisting arrest by flight and criminal damage to property after police said he tried to run over Officer Karla Baker during a traffic stop on Downman Road.
Baker received minor injuries.
Henry was captured hiding at his girlfriend’s home, according to police.
He was arrested after a brief chase and is currently on probation for residence burglary.
Woman robbed after leaving bus
New Orleans — Police are searching for a man who robbed a woman as she got off the bus Monday night.
The incident was reported at 5:27 p.m. in the 13900 block of Hayne Boulevard in eastern New Orleans.
The woman told police that as she was leaving the bus, a man pulled a gun on her, went through her pockets and then pushed her before fleeing. Anyone with information on that incident can contact Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
Authorities: Gunshot fired after argument
Harvey — An argument between Harvey residents Sunday ended with gunplay, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Carlos Sanchez, 37, at his apartment in the Tallowtree subdivision after they said he fired a single shot into the air following an argument with his neighbors.
According to an arrest report, Sanchez argued with his fellow tenants after he disconnected their cable connections.
He was booked with illegal use of a weapon, simple criminal damage to property and resisting arrest by refusing to provide proper identification.
Man accusedof stalking woman
Kenner— Kenner police arrested a man Monday whom they accused of spying on an ex-girlfriend with binoculars and threatening to kill her.
Ordell Beasley, 69, was booked with stalking after police found him with two knives and binoculars watching his ex-girlfriend’s home Sunday, according to an arrest report.
The woman reported Beasley to police because she said he had been following her after they broke up in September and had threatened to kill her and her grandson.
Beasley and the woman dated for roughly four months, according to police.
