A New Orleans motorcyclist died early Saturday when he barreled into a pickup truck at Tulane Avenue and South Rocheblave Street, police said.
Police withheld the name of the 34-year-old victim pending notification of family members.
The wreck happened about 2:50 a.m. when the motorcyclist was driving a Kawasaki south on Tulane Avenue.
A Metairie man in a Chevy Avalanche pickup was crossing Tulane heading east on South Rocheblave Street.
The motorcycle collided with the pickup, Officer Garry Flot said. The cyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died. The 31-year-old driver of the pickup was not injured.

Man shot to death in the 7th Ward
A man was shot to death Saturday morning in the 7th Ward, New Orleans police said.
The shooting happened about 7:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Roman Street.
Officers found the unidentified man lying in grass in the backyard of a house.
Fire at vacant home under investigation
A fire in a vacant St. Tammany Parish home is under investigation.
Fire Protection District No. 12 personnel responded late Friday night to a structural fire that heavily damaged the residential property.
The initial call came in at 11:43 p.m. about the home in the 73000 block of United Church Road, near Covington, according to a news release. Responding units arrived at 11:51 p.m. and had the fire under control by 12:26 a.m.
The district dispatched four engines, a rescue truck, a tanker truck and a ladder truck to the scene. There were no injuries, and no cause has been determined.
The home had been vacant since Hurricane Katrina.
Suspect wanted for stolen property
New Orleans police are asking the public to help them find a man wanted for possession of a stolen car.
About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the man was seen exiting the stolen car in the 800 block of Aline Street, according to police and video surveillance.
The car was reported stolen the day before, when the victim left it running as he went into a Shell gas station in the 2100 block of Magazine Street.

N.O. police report three armed robberies
Three armed robberies were reported Friday evening in New Orleans.
Shortly after 5 p.m., two teenage boys were held up in New Orleans East, according to police.
The boys, ages 15 and 16, were in the 4700 block of Redwood Street when they were approached by two armed strangers who demanded their property. The victims complied.
About three hours later, a 36-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Uptown.
The victim was in the 3700 block of Baronne Street when he was approached by two men in a car who demanded his cash, police said. He complied.
About 9 p.m., a 20-year-old man and two women, ages 16 and 17, were approached at Leonidas Street and Sycamore Place by two men armed with guns.
The men fled with the 17-year-old’s purse.
Man shot in the leg in the 7th Ward
A 24-year-old man was shot Friday night in the 7th Ward, New Orleans police said.
The man was in the 1800 block of Lapeyrouse Street shortly before 9 p.m. when he heard a car pull up and shots fired. He discovered he had been shot in the leg.
He was taken to a local hospital.
Armed robbery reported in Terrytown
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an armed robbery in Terrytown late Friday night.
A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident, which happened at Monterey Court and Behrman Highway.
The 911 headquarters reported the incident about 11 p.m.
Man stabbed Saturday in Harvey
A man was cut or stabbed early Saturday in Harvey, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
His injuries were not life-threatening.

Armed robbery reported in Jefferson
A man was injured early Saturday morning after an armed robbery in Jefferson, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The incident in the 900 block of Claiborne Drive was reported by 911 headquarters just before 5:30 a.m.
