River Views: River Parishes to celebrate Independence Day on July 3 _lowres

River Parishes theater fans should get ready to be entertained as several local theater groups are ready to present their summer productions.

St. John Theatre in Reserve will present “Annie Get Your Gun” at 7:30 p.m. on July 17-18 and July 22-15, with a 2:30 matinee performance on July 19 at the historic theater located at 115 W. Fourth St.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at Allied Express in LaPlace or at the theater box office.

Abbie Shull will portray the legendary sharpshooter who was discovered by Wild West showman Buffalo Bill Cody, played by Jeremy Guidry. Oakley joins the show and rises to fame, outshining Frank Butler, played by Lance Ural, Buffalo Bill’s sharpshooting headliner. All Oakley really wants, however, is to win Frank’s heart.

Other cast members are Derrick Faucheux, Audrey Martin, Jared Tregre, Lauren Snowdy, Mike Brooks, Darious Robertson and Jourdan Buras, Madeleine Millet, Ashleigh Zaidain, Sydney Remondet, Juan Watkins Jr., Lennen R. Madere, William Dopp, Logan Williams, Erin Remondet, Lance Duhe, Sadie Kelly, Averi Rojas, Ashley Toups, Jenna Beber, Jenna Toups, Abbie Duhe, Erica Berthelot, Alaina Andry, Tank Nelson, Desiree Faucheux, Brianna Bourgeois, Haley Hickman, Victoria Glidden, and Alaila Snyder. Greer Millet is the director.

St. John hosts Children’s Theatre Camp

The St. John Theatre also will hold its annual Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp July 27-31 for children who have completed kindergarten through 12th grade. This year’s production is “Rapunzel,” with performances to be held at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 1.

Auditions will be held July 27 at 9 a.m. Participation is limited and no preregistration will be held. The cost is $50.

St. James Theater to present the Addams Family

The St. James Community Theater will present “The Addams Family” with 7:30 p.m. shows on July 24, 25, 30, 31 and Aug. 1, all at St. Peter School, 188 W. Seventh St. in Reserve. A matinee performance will be held at 2 p.m. July 26.

Opening night is a dinner and show beginning at 5:30 p.m. on July 24. Dinner will be served by the Creole House Café. Reservations must be made and tickets must be bought in advance. Tickets may be purchased at Roussel’s in Gramercy or Allied Express in LaPlace. Tickets are $15 each and box offices will accept cash, checks (made payable to SJCT), and credit card. Tickets also are available for purchase online at www.stjamestheater.org.
