Update, 2 p.m. Thursday

New Orleans police reported another armed robbery that occurred Wednesday.

Around 4:15 p.m., a 30-year-old man was walking in the 3500 block of Dryades Street when a silver vehicle with two men inside pulled up beside him. One suspect asked for directions, then allegedly revealed a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet and cellphone, and the victim complied, police said.

Three armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery were reported Wednesday in New Orleans, including three in the Uptown and Carrollton areas, police said.

Around 6:25 p.m., a 29-year-old man was getting out of his car in the 5800 block of McKenna Street when a man in a silver vehicle called him over, the New Orleans Police Department said in a preliminary offense log. The suspect allegedly produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s money. The victim refused and fled to his backyard, police said, and the suspect fled the scene.

Ten minutes later, a 30-year-old man was putting items in his vehicle in the 8300 block of Willow Street when a man approached, also in a silver vehicle, and demanded his wallet. The victim complied, and the suspect fled.

Then, at 6:45 p.m., a 60-year-old man was painting a house in the 8700 block of Spruce Street when he was approached by a man who allegedly held a gun to his head and demanded his wallet, police said. The victim complied, and the suspect fled in a silver vehicle.

Police did not immediately confirm whether the three incidents are related.
