New Orleans police are hoping that a sketch of a man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Sunday that killed a 2-year-old boy will lead to a name of the driver responsible for the toddler’s death.

Police released the sketch Thursday morning.

The unknown man hit Christian Glover about 5:15 p.m. Sunday as he ran into the road in the 3100 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

The man got out of his white pick-up truck, saw Christian on the ground, got back into the truck and drove away, police have said.

The boy died a short time later at Interim LSU Hospital.

The driver is described as a black man with a dark complexion, between 40 and 50 years old, 5-foot-11 to 6 feet tall, 160 to 180 pounds with a thin build and has salt-and-pepper hair with a goatee. He wore a navy blue T-shirt and dark colored pants and drove an older model, two-door Chevrolet truck.

Anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact fatality investigator Edgar Edwards at (504) 658-6208 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
