• HELPING BUSINESSES GROW: The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission and the Jefferson Chamber will present a free seminar Wednesday on business lending and investment options available in the Greater New Orleans region. Topics will include angel investment, crowdfunding, financing options available through JEDCO and how to prep for a meeting with investors/lenders. The seminar will be at the JEDCO Conference Center, 701A Churchill Parkway, Westwego, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event is open to all businesses and entrepreneurs.   • LAWYER HONORED: Angelina “Angie” Christina, a lawyer in the New Orleans office of McGlinchey Stafford PLLC and a 2003 magna cum laude graduate of Tulane University Law School, has been named as a member of The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. Christina also has accepted an appointment to the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Bar Foundation. The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars elected to membership based outstanding achievements; it’s limited to less than 1 percent of attorneys licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. NOBF, along with other philanthropic projects, focuses on funding the Southeast Louisiana Legal Services’ Public Interest Law Fellowship.
