The Snail team took first place in a robotics competition held during a pep rally March 18 at Kehoe-France School in Metairie. The Snail team’s robotics engineers are Abby Miserendino, Jake Terrell and Emma Bourgeois.

The robotics teams were made up of seventh-graders who had just completed a unit on robotics and programming, taught by Alicia Ward. The students built Sumobots, and the top three teams from each class competed at the pep rally.

There also was a Knock-Out Derby that allowed all of the robots to participate. The winning team for the Knock-Out Derby was made up of Brice Borges, Anthony Lam, Austin Engel and Adam Khalil.
