New Orleans police reported five armed robberies Friday and early Saturday morning in various parts of town.

About 8:45 a.m. Friday, a woman, 43, walking in the 2200 block of Port Street was approached by a man with a gun who demanded her money. She complied.

About 9 a.m., a woman, 29, was leaving her house in the 4400 block of Longfellow Drive when three armed men forced her back inside, took money from her purse and ransacked her bedroom. A second woman, 25, was held in the living room at gunpoint until the assailants fled with the money and other items.

About 7:45 p.m., a man, 31, was sitting in his car near Dante and Stroelitz streets when two armed men knocked on his window and ordered him out of the car. When they were unable to start the car, they stole the man’s cellphone.

About 8 p.m., a male pedestrian, 35, was robbed of his cellphone and cash by an armed man in the 1800 block of Burgundy Street.

And about 3 a.m. Saturday, someone was robbed at gunpoint in the 1400 block of France Street. No other details were available.
