The Coroner’s Office on Saturday identified a teenager who was shot and died on a Lower 9th Ward street late Friday.
Malik Braddy, 18, died in the 1600 block of Lizardi Street near North Derbigny Street, said the office of Dr. Jeffrey C. Rouse, New Orleans city coroner.
New Orleans Police responding to a call late Friday about someone lying in the middle of a Lower 9th Ward street found Braddy, who had been shot and later died at the scene.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and died about 10 p.m, a news release Saturday from the New Orleans Police Department said.
Investigators are interviewing witness, collecting evidence and trying to establish a motive. Homicide Detective Ryan Vaught leads the investigation.
