Harry Potter themes added fun to the annual food drive at St. Mary’s Dominican High School. Religion classes competed for the Hogwarts House Cup for collecting the most canned goods.

The seven-day Dominican drive brought in 21,034 cans of food from students, faculty, staff and alumnae.

The canned food collection weighed 16,626 pounds. With the average meal weighing 1.2 pounds, Dominican’s donation equates to 13,855 meals.

Dominican’s drive supports the Second Harvest Food Bank during the summer months when Second Harvest historically experiences a decrease in food donations.
