Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response was established in 1975 to provide services to sexual assault survivors in Baton Rouge. An open house and ribbon-cutting for the Mid-City office will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 20. STAR services in New Orleans include a 24/7 hotline, medical advocacy through University Medical Center, criminal justice advocacy and accompaniment, counseling and outreach services to male and female survivors and loved ones ages 12 and older.
