An apparent string of armed robberies at a chain of local convenience stores continued late Monday when at least one person robbed the Brother’s Food Mart in the 3600 block of 18th Street in Metairie.

The robbery happened about 11:40 p.m. No other details were available.

On Saturday night, the Brother’s store in the 3500 block of the Interstate 10 Service Road in Metairie was hit. That is about 2 miles away from where Monday’s robbery happened.

About 1:30 a.m. Sunday, an armed robbery was reported at the Brother’s in the 900 block of Seven Oaks Boulevard in Bridge City. There were no injuries.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has not identified suspects in any of the robberies.

Men pepper-sprayed, robbed of truck in N.O.

Two men were robbed of their truck and Jet Ski on Saturday night when four people sprayed them with pepper spray, New Orleans police said.

The carjacking happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Eve Street in Broadmoor.

The victims were driving a Chevrolet truck and towing the personal watercraft when four men approached. The men sprayed the victims with pepper spray and then pointed a gun at them, police said. The men then drove away with the truck and Jet Ski.

Police did not provide a description of the carjackers.
