The Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi will honor the Terrific Kids and Terrific Teens from the 2013-14 school year at the club’s annual pancake breakfast set for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 10 in the Chalmette High School Ninth Grade Academy cafeteria, 1101 E. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette.

Additional tickets will be available at the door for $5 for adults and $3 for children on the day of the event. The breakfast is open to the public.

Pancake breakfast chairman Steve Fecke encourages all parish residents to come out and support the Terrific Kids and Terrific Teens at the breakfast.

“This is a great opportunity to support our parish children by coming out and showing them your support for their hard work and efforts throughout the school year,” Fecke said. “You will enjoy a good breakfast, and enjoy seeing the kids’ faces light up when they are recognized for their efforts.”

Terrific Kids is a Kiwanis International program that awards outstanding students who are Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.

Terrific Kids/Terrific Teens yard signs and T-shirts have been sprouting up throughout the community.

The Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi’s program, sponsored by Chalmette Refining, honors elementary, middle and high school students at St. Bernard Parish’s public schools, as well as Lynn Oaks and Our Lady of Prompt Succor.
