A motorcyclist and his passenger were ejected after colliding with a drunk driver on North Roman Street and Elysian Fields Avenue Friday night, according to a New Orleans Police Department release.

Around 8:45 p.m. a black Honda motorcycle driven by a man in his mid-twenties with a woman passenger in her early twenties crossed the North Roman Street intersection on Elysian Frields Avenue and crashed in a Green Ford F-150 pickup truck, according to the release.

The truck was driven by Donald Early, 59, who was driving while intoxicated, according to the release. The man and woman were ejected from the motorcycle and received serious head injuries.

According to the release, Early was uninjured.
