Several bullet holes were found in a Covington-area church Saturday afternoon, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.
A member of the Northshore Bible Church, located on Sunshine Avenue, staff noticed an apparent bullet hole in one of the church windows Saturday around 1:15 p.m. A window pane near the church's front entrance was broken, and three other bullet holes were found in decorative column in front of the church, according to STPSO.
Bullet fragments were also found inside. And two casings were found inside a nearby residence.
The church was vacant when the incident occurred, and detectives reportedly believe the gunfire happened around 11 p.m. Friday.
