NOPD: Missing man found dead of multiple gunshot wounds near I-10; 2 injured in Gert Town shooting _lowres

Police reported late Wednesday they are investigating the homicide of a man found dead near the intersection of 1-10 West and Elysian Fields.

Sean Johnson, 24, had been reported missing earlier in the day, according to an NOPD release, and was discovered about 7:30 p.m. having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Johnson was last seen around 11 p.m. Monday driving his girlfriend's Silver 2011 Toyota Camry with a temporary Louisiana license plate.

Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, the car was found abandoned at Mandeville Street and North Rocheblave Street with the keys in the ignition.

No further details are available at this time.

NOPD investigating double shooting

Two men, ages 22 and 18, were injured in a double shooting Wednesday at Olive and Fern streets, according to New Orleans police.

The 22-year-old told police that he heard gunshots around 9:45 p.m. and started running. When he realized he had been shot, he passed out, police said in a preliminary offense log.

He later woke up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

The 18-year-old was transported to an area hospital by private conveyance.

Both men’s conditions are unknown.
