A pedestrian was killed in a crash Wednesday night in St. Charles Parish, officials said.
Around 10:30 p.m., a pedestrian wearing dark clothing, who has not been identified, was walking in the right lane of U.S. 90 west near Tiger Drive when a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 19-year-old Chelsey Guidroz of Houma, approached Tiger Drive. Guidroz saw the pedestrian and attempted to take evasive action, but the truck struck the pedestrian, Louisiana State Police said.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
Speed and impairment are not considered factors in the crash. Guidroz voluntarily submitted to a breath test, and no detectable alcohol was found, State Police said.
